Lost is a six season series about a group of people who survived a plane crash. Flight 815 was 1000 miles off course when it crashed onto a mysterious island. Each survivor had secrets of their own and was kept alive for a reason.

I have never seen a T.V show or movie that can develop characters as well as Lost. For the first two season at least. There were many characters in the series, but I cried the same when each one died. There were huge plot twists, and the first season was incredible. There was a sense of fear and mystery established. It felt as if I was one of the survivors on the island. The second season was also fantastic. The mystery of the island become somewhat addressed, and you become attached to the characters.

You connect with characters so much that you can’t stop watching the show even though you want to.

However, everything went downhill from there. It was as if the makers of Lost ran out of ideas. The things that were happening were complete nonsense, and the plot made no sense. You could understand what was happening, but it felt like a 3rd grader was writing the script. Parts of the plot didn’t connect. They used flashbacks to develop the characters in the story. However, the flashbacks were so long, tedious, and frequent that it became confusing whether there was a flashback happening or not.

At that point, I wanted to stop watching the series. However, the characters were so well developed that I couldn’t stop watching. I was very bored multiple times, but I couldn’t stop watching because I needed to know what happened to them. The plot was complete nonsense, so I didn’t care about that. If it weren’t for the characters, I would’ve stopped watching the show.

The actors that had the best performance was Evangeline Lily, Josh Holloway, and Terry O’Quinn. These are characters introduced from episode one. Other phenomenal characters appeared later in the series. If you have seen the show Friends, you would understand how sad and annoying Ross’ character started to become. The same thing happened to the lead actor, Matthew Fox. Most actors ended up losing their fame very quickly.

Evangeline Lily, Ian Somerhalder, Dominic Monaghan, and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje are the main people who have established themselves in other places. They have been in movies like The Hobbit and Suicide Squad.

Overall, Lost just kept adding more and more things to prevent the show from ending. However, you can’t blame them because you can’t do much with survivors and a mysterious island. All of this eventually led to the incredibly anti-climatic season finale that made people extremely frustrated.

I have never seen a T.V show or movie that can develop characters as well as Lost. That was only for the first two seasons. Jack started off as a leader and a great guy and the same applied for Kate. Jack was my favorite character for a little bit. Sawyer started off as arrogant and cocky. I couldn’t stand his character. John Locke seemed like a nice and friendly man because he helped Michael find his son, Walt. Charlie was a drug addict, and Hugo Reyes didn’t feel necessary for the plot. That quickly changed considering he was one of the last survivors in the show. Jin and Sun seemed like jerks and Sayid was a kind of a cool character. The survivors of Flight 815 were an interesting, diverse group of people.

I slowly started to feel like one of the characters. The show began to develop Sawyer’s character slowly, and he wasn’t as big of a jerk. It was revealed that Sun could speak English and how complicated her relationship with Jin was.

Then after a little bit of developing the characters, the show started to explain the mysteries of the island more. The island allowed John Locke to walk and cured Rose of her illness. It was explained that everybody was brought to the island for a reason. Then, “The Others” were introduced. At that point, I felt like one of the survivors on the beach, so it was scary knowing there were other people on the island with them. Among those people were, Juliette, Ben, and Ethan. They were really good actors, especially Ben. Ben had a way of driving everybody insane and getting what he wanted. Ben was kind of like the Joker. It felt that way until later in the series when “his daughter ” died.

As the show went further on, I found myself barely able to stop watching it. Jack started to become annoying, but my perceptions of the other characters completely changed.

However, everything that goes up will always come back down. When the hatch and Hugo’s curse was introduced, everything started to go downhill. The idea that a button had to be pressed to prevent the world from ending was crazy. And all of a sudden they were going back in time, and Ben was spinning a wheel to move the island.

In the midst of the show, other great characters were introduced along the way. This includes Mr. Eko and Desmond.

I got tired of the show by season 6. When Jacob and The Man In Black came into the show, I was completely shocked. I didn’t understand what happened or why it happened. I badly wanted to stop watching it, but I needed to see how the show would end. The ending left us all frustrated. Jack and his dad walk into the Church that has all of the survivors inside. Then a bright light appears at the end of the Church, and everybody walks towards it. And it was over. Just like that. Not only were there many unanswered questions, but the ending was horrible.

That leads us to the series finale that left us all frustrated. Jack and his dad walked into the Church that had all of the survivors inside. However, I have to give credit to the show for managing to keep all of us watching the show for six seasons. There have been some iconic moments from lost, which I will always remember. Like John Locke’s words,”Don’t tell me what I can’t do!”.

The first two seasons were fantastic, but the last four seasons were a total trainwreck. That’s why…

Ever since the past summer started, I fell in love with movies and watched 1-3 movies a week regularly with my dad. He has always loved movies, and we are now watching them in theaters and at home. The films are topics that range from zombies to heroes and everything in between. As a result of watching so many, I have learned to analyze them very well. I obtain information about them like, statistics, box office, reviews and much more. I then get information from multiple websites, like Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB.

First of all Sully is a true story about Chesley B. “Sully” Sullenberger and co-pilot Jeff Skiles. In 2009, Sullenberger successfully glided US Airways Flight 1549 into the Hudson River during an emergency landing. Nobody had ever landed a plane in water or trained for an event like that. The movie was not only about the “crash,” but about the story afterward. The NTSB believed the plane had enough fuel to return to the airport, and that he did not have to endanger the lives of all 150 passengers.

Tom Hanks (Sully) pulled off a magnificent performance. However, there are two things you can be sure about in life. You should never fly with Malaysia Airlines, and you should never travel with Tom Hanks. In Captain Philips, Sully, and Castaway, something happens to Hanks’ vehicle.

The effects and the directing by Clint Eastwood in Sully had the audience emerged into the movie during certain parts. The CGI felt real, and they, used a real plane when filming in the Hudson River. However, this movie still wasn’t great. It was pretty good, but not great. Sure, the water landing and the plane scenes were fantastic, but we start off the movie knowing that everybody is going to turn out fine. The story and aftermath of the crash were interesting and exciting.

An interesting fact is Sully and Tom Hanks first met at an Oscar party. Tom Hanks asked Chelsey how he was handling all the attention. He responded saying that he had made peace with the title of “National Hero.” He would not call himself a hero, but he appreciates being called one. That is the attitude of a real hero. Harrison Ford also gave advice to Sully.

In a year of disappointing and overhyped movies (Suicide Squid, Batman vs. Superman, etc.), this film still manages to be one of the best films of the year, so far. It does not keep you on the edge of your seat, but it manages to keep you entertained. It is worth your money.
